Beautiful grounds. I loved my walk to my bungalow through the garden—that part was very nice! I also loved seeing the chickens everyday grazing the lawn.
The staff are all friendly and very helpful. I am very grateful for our conversations and for making me feel welcomed.
A few things could be improved—
1. The keys to the door-
So the keys to the bungalows come with a device that turns the lights on, so everything is on the same key ring. This is a problem if it is dark and you are either trying to lock or unlock your door. I had to get my phone out to use my flashlight app every night. This is something that could easily be improved by changing the lock to a dead bolt, so you only need the key for the outside. I hope this is considered for the future.
2. The bathroom noise at night, and the smell in the morning. You can definitely hear things moving through the pipes and some gargling type sounds. I just shut the door and it was fine. However, when I woke up each morning, the bathroom would smell really bad and I’d have to air it out. I don’t exactly know what’s going on with that, but I know it’s not right and should be fixed.
3. The bikes—this was absolutely my biggest disappointment. I admit, I was really drawn to the advertising the Canada Hotel guest had free use of bikes on the premises. I’d say half of them the chains are not on the track. All are rusty, the breaks don’t work, etc. The bikes need immediate attention and repair.
