6/10 Good

The building is gorgeous and is lovely to be in but the receptionist was on her phone for much of check in. The bed in our room was really hard and creaky and it felt like most of the fixtures (sink, shower head, taps) were all one use away from falling off. The breakfast situation was a bit unclear - we discovered at check out that omelettes were available every day but there was no indication in the food hall how to get them and we were always in the room for about 20 minutes before there was anyone to ask. Location-wise it's really great and everything is walkable and the building really is beautiful

A gem of a place
Lovely oldy worldy boutique hotel full of character. Awesome building full of history. Wonderful cocktail bar and restaurant in the "dungeon". Staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The room was good for a single traveller, which was what i was. Clean and warm. I would definitely use again. My kind of place but may not suit everyone.

Ancient times experience with modern quality
The hotel is built in an ancient building close to the downtown. It is very well set-up, atmosphere is elegant and antique, but everything is clean and perfectly maintained and useful. Bathrooms are modern and comfortable. Our bedroom had A/C, minibar and TV. Personnel was awesome, the Front-desk receptionist was very fun and frendly. Position is very good, at 10 minutes walking from the restaurants, pubs and nightclubs place.

6/10 Good

Was told at arrival I would have to move facilities. They did not have opening due to me making reservations 4-6 weeks prior (assuming because it was not made through hotel and price was less). After conversations with staff and Hotels.com, I was allowed to stay. Staff was "chilly" after this encounter. Room was nice. Neighborhood was sketchy at night.

I loved this hotel. I would definitely recommend the hotel to travelers, but only if you can navigate the streets (either by walking or by bus or by metro) The staff told me that the hotel is about 130 years old, and it still has this old-world charm. But the room was fully up-to-date, with air conditioning (which is not always the case in Eastern Europe), and very clean. The staff was wonderful, though sometimes we had to work at the language barrier a little bit (sadly, it's my fault. I only speak American English and am not bi-lingual). It was a quiet, peaceful stay on a quiet street. The area around the hotel is probably normal for Bucharest, but felt a bit run-down for the American suburban-ite. It was safe, and we walked everywhere, even late into the evening. We simply had to get past our American expectations. I did not eat in the restaurant, so I cannot speak to that.

Great Antique Hotel
I would say that it is now Great Antique Hotel rather than Boutique as it feels really outdated, lots of elements of decoration and furniture need replacement with new ones. Breakfast is OK, they do not serve any food at lunch or dinner. Service is friendly. I had one of the best Romanian wines from their bar and enjoyed it at the patio. Luckily it was a beautiful evening, it was peaceful and quiet.

Definitely have to say as a first time traveler to Romania these accommodations were perfect. You are in the central part of the city but perfectly located on a quiet street. Rooms extremely comfortable, very welcoming staff, and fantastic breakfast. Highly recommend.

Liked it. Clean. Gorgeous. Staff bent over backwards to cater to my whims. Decor, vibe made my friends briefly wonder whether some uninvited famed vampire will possibly visit my room during the dusk ‘til dawn period. Will definitely return. Highly recommend it.

Interesting , historic hotel
I would recommend the hotel . It’s an interesting, historic hotel and is walking distance from the Old Town and quiet. Very good breakfast. Staff were very helpful. The hotel had a power cut lasting several hours and this did cause problems as we couldn’t use our rooms . I did think some sort of compensation could have been offered in the circumstances, such as a free breakfast .
