I booked this stay last minute and did not do my research ahead of time. The place is more for long term students not for someone looking for a charming, chic Paris experience. The neighborhood is unique from the rest of Paris-- authentic, a bit scruffy and working class. Did i feel safe as a single woman? Yes.
The hotel staff is kind and tries hard. The place is clean but not fancy or for that matter, attractive. Think dormitory, a nice one. Because i thought it was a hotel, I expected daily service (towels, clean room, a bar of soap) and did not get this. So you will have to purchase your own soap, TP, etc. There are kitchens in each room which came in handy.
The metro is close but this location is a bit out of the way, compared with city center. Would I personally stay here again? Probably not, due to lack of restaurants and cafes and a bit unattractive. However my room was upgraded and I have fond memories.
