disappointing bar service let’s down this hotel
The hotel was lovely, staff on check in were great. The bar staff and service in the restaurant were terrible. One meal missing from dinner, we asked twice for the kissing meal and it eventually arrived as everyone had finished, no apology even when we asked. We were also left without cutlery and had to ask for some. When the missing meal arrived, there was no onion rings. Child’s roast dinner arrived with mostly veg, 2 potatoes no Yorkshire pudding. Dessert ordered wAs for 2 ice creams, which also arrived and was incorrect and had to be re ordered. We stayed Bank holiday weekend and I appreciate it was a busy weekend as the weather was lovely but surely you get your staff in order before a busy weekend. An apology and explanation would haven taken 2 minutes instead of just ignoring us then being rude

Good hotel good position
Hotel close to the Lake and nice and friendly with lively atmosphere in the evening. Bar food in the evening was very good and sensibly priced. WILL DEFINITELY USE THIS PLACE AGAIN WiFi in the bar was OK but would have been even better if it was accessible in the room. Full English breakfast was lovely and cooked to order, would have been nice to have some of the other choices without having to pay a supplement. These are small issues and are far outweighed by the positives of this hotel! We even had a day of sunshine and blue skies

Overnight stay in Coniston
I stayed overnight as I was meeting friends at Tarn Hows. The room was very clean, everything worked but the windows rattled with occasional gusts of wind. Dinner was an excellent roast and we returned the next day for sandwiches which were good too. Breakfast was very good and service very helpful and friendly. Good pint of Robinsons too.

Excellent Breakfasts
We only booked a couple of weeks before the Bank holiday and I was very pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness of the room, particularly the bathroom. Location is excellent, a couple of hundred yards from the centre, and there is plenty of on-site parking. Breakfasts were lovely: lots of choice, varied fruit salads/berry compote, smoked salmon for a small surcharge with light and fluffy scrambled eggs. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. What's not to like?

Nice hotel with good parking
Stayed 3 nights over the August bank holiday. Lots of choice for breakfast. I would recommend the omelette. We also had one evening meal and I would recommend the pizza. Lovely spacious and clean room. The towels were luxurious.
