I stayed at Hotel Jakarta while spending a few days in Amsterdam October 8-12 and had a fabulous stay!
The hotel is gorgeous and looks exactly as depicted on the website. The rooms were clean and spacious. The food was delicious!!! The Indonesian dinner menu did not disappoint! The nasi goreng was delicious! BReakfast was also included and had a nice variety of offerings: deli meat and cheese, vegetables (cucumbers, tomatoes), scrambled eggs, eggs benedict, pancakes, waffles, fruit, yogurt, granola (bars & loose), hot and cold beverages.
Malabar lounge is on the 8th floor and is a great way to end the day with drinks and enjoy the beautiful view of the city. On Friday and Saturday nights they have a DJ that comes in and plays music.
The hotel is outside of the City Centre so you will need to take a bus (#43 from Tosaristraat) from the hotel or tram (#26 from Kattenburgerstraat) to get to Centraal Station, which takes about 15 mins. From Centraal Station you can walk or take a tram to Dam Square or other attractions.
The staff are friendly and very welcoming - Chormina, Jermaine and Lisa stood out to me. I have stayed at many hotels and resorts throughout Canada, USA, Caribbean and Europe and I must say that the hotel manager, Frank Tuhusula, was very attentive to all guests. If you were sitting in the lobby he would ask if there was anything that was needed; making sure everyone was looked after and doing okay. If the other 2 front end staff were busy checking i
