I enjoy a hotel that makes you feel like the location… not some generic place that looks the same in every location. The Porterhouse was great in that regard, made me feel like I was in Oxford. A perfect way to enjoy two nights in Oxford. Iconic English countryside rooms over a gastro-pub that has incredible steaks, desserts and service. With only a few rooms, you feel like family and everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Bonus, we met lovely people who were dining or drinking in the restaurant and bar every time we dined. Easy walk to the train station, main city stretch and Oxford. Thank you!!

Very nice property which located just outside town so very quiet, still less than a 5 minute walk from the station though. Staff were very friendly and room was very pleasant. Breakfast options were different from a usual hotel which made a nice change, the only place in England I’ve seen that gives you a piece of steak with your cooked breakfast. Would definitely stay again!
