This accommodation is very conveniently placed just a minute or two walk from the main bus station. The main airport shuttle bus in Dubrovnik terminates at this main station.
So from the airport you step outside, onto the bus, and then into your room with a minimum of fuss once the bus trip is finished.
The rooms are also located 10 metres from the main road and that’s the local bus route into the old town, which is about 10-15 minutes away on the 1a or 1b bus. Coming back from the old town, the local bus stop is right at Ora which is up about 12 steps from the bus stop. Going into town from Ora, the bus stop is on the other side of the road, about 60 metres.
Ora itself is located at the waterway which is the port, so it’s also a scenic walk around the water at the Ora location and there a few cafes and restaurants dotted close around.
The hosts, father and son, could not have been more helpful to me with suggestions and friendliness. When I checked out I made a mistake, leaving my expensive headphones, power adapter and charging cable in the rooms and the owner very kindly posted it express to my next travel location, which I received a few days later. You can’t ask for better customer service than that. My main tip — double check your room before you leave!
I enjoyed my short trip to Dubrovnik, a truly beautiful town, stunning scenery and as if you have walked into a medieval movie set.
And the Croatian hospitality was first rate.
