This was a last minute rental due to our other VRBO property locking us out almost 2 hours after check-in time and we were staying in a relatively remote area of Arkansas. The description of this property was limited. It is in a beautiful location and the property was clean, beds comfy, nicest firepit we have ever seen and we had everything we needed in the kitchen.(There is no oven or stovetop.) Here is what is not listed in the property description: the bathroom (while nice) is not attached to the house. You must go out and up stairs to access. The security light failed to come on the third night (not sure why.) To get to the cabin, you must go down a bit of a hill and across a bridge. Which is why after we unloaded 4 days of food and equipment (2nd time)(again, not a lot of choices in this area) we only messaged Expedia but did not contact the host about the horrible smell coming from the porch. (To eliminate the smell, part of the porch would most likely need to be pulled up and we were either going to back to our home in Dallas or try to live with it.) Clearly an animal died under there and is decomposing. It was impossible to sit on the porch the entire weekend. We abated the smell using citronella punks and scented candles.
Again, the area is beautiful, the spring fed streams running in front of the cabin are delightful but the hike to the bathroom, the hike to the car, the lack of a stove AND the truly horrible smell contribute to the stars we gave this accomodation.
