Great stay!
The location was great, on the 함덕 beach with lots of restaurants, cafes, and convenient stores. Beautiful greenery in front of the hotel. It was relatively quiet when we were there which was actually nice. Not a lot of options for breakfast, but it was delicious and enough to make us happy - I enjoyed the korean style bulgogi and rice the most. The only thing I would recommend for the hotel to improve is having a safety box in the rooms.

Too overpriced
This hotel is way too overpriced and overrated. I can definitely say you can find a fancier hotel with your budget. There are a lot of affordable hotels with great conditions in Jeju. Ocean view was good though, I wouldnt recommend.

I have no idea why this hotel has such a high rating or nightly rate. Other than a friendly staff and nice spot overlooking the beach, there is not a lot going for it.
It is incredibly dated. It looks like it hasn't been updated since the late 70s. The lobby bathroom didn't have soap! (The dispensers we're under plastic bags and empty.)
The facilities and grounds seem musty and old. There is a definite smell to the whole place. Our rooms were tidy, but marked up and not maintained. The bedsheets were NOT clean and had stains. The beds only had 1 pillow for each side (a double bed.) The beds were super firm. I can't sleep on my back and had a lot of trouble getting rest as did my parents.
It is bare bones. There are no amenities. For shampoo and body wash, you have to receive it at the front desk (after asking.)
I didn't try the breakfast because the menu was very limited. The "lounge" is like a time warp out of the 80s and all they serve for food after dinner time is pork cutlet. (Luckily, there were a couple of cute restaurants a short distance from the hotel so we were able to eat.)
If you're staying in Hamdeok Beach, I would recommend researching a newer hotel or a well-rated Airbnb. Don't stay here. I was really embarrassed bringing my parents here.

Great!!
Our stay was beyond perfect! I loved the view the hotel has, staff is very helpful and respectful. Breakfast was very good with many choices of food. I would recommend the hotel to any friend and if I go back to hamdeok I will definitely stay in Sunshine Hotel .

The only place in Hamdeok to stay
Easy check-in, nice staff, great view. The location of the hotel faces the beach but is on the quieter side of Hamdeok thankfully. Wish the walls were a little more soundproof due to loud neighbors. 4.8 out of 5.

We are thankful the breakfast was included.
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel with the exception of the first night was quite warm in the room. We contacted the front desk and was told the air condition system was off now. My husband finally contacted the staff a second time and received an electric fan. The second night the air condition was turned on for us and was quite a pleasant evening. The view from the room was beautiful and the included breakfast was delightful. There were 8 members in our party. We were disappointed that the Karyoke was not working, however, the staff did not seem to mind our singing anyway. We left with many fond memories.

Great stay! Close walk to the beach. Multiple restaurants. Not really close to anything but the seclusion and view are worth it! Would recommend to people!
