Family trip
Little but expensive compare with what they have served.
Long queue for self check in, early arrive if you want to join the activities afterwards.
Room is big but dust is easy found, air conditioning not quite function.
Great for kids, but most of the activities need to register & pay extra. Good place for dining with free playground, the outdoor onsen beach is nice but better to bring a footwear to protect your feet especially for children, the ground in the beach area is easy to hurt their skin due to they revamp with non-slip sand

Not for couples and not clean
This is not the place for a relaxing vacation. We knew it was family friendly but this hotel purely caters to families with small kids. If you enjoy being woken up in the middle of the night by screaming toddlers and screaming adults, someone pounding on the floor or against the walls this is the place for you. Unfortunately the place is also filthy and smells gross. Mold in the windows and the bathroom, hair in the shower and on the floor, toothpaste spills from previous guests on the bathroom doors. The furniture in the room is fine but the bathrooms look like something you have in a hospital and not a hotel. The staircase and elevators are disgusting, no one has cleaned there in a long time and the smell is apprehensive. We were lucky to have a car and go somewhere during the day, otherwise you are stuck in your room or the onsen because there is nothing else to do for adults without kids. The food was decent and staff is friendly but that doesn't make up for the shortcomings.

Kitayuzawa Onsen Hotel
Fabulous Family friendly hotel with many large onsen pools.
Lots of space & activities for the kids too.
It can get a tad noisy at dinner in the buffet hall.

We had a wonderful stay with our two kids (3 and 5 years). So much to do and play - the kids had a blast, and we enjoyed the Onsen, the food and the wonderful design.

Paradise for children
We absolutely enjoyed our stay here.
What's not to love ? Huge indoor playground for children, indoor + outdoor warm water swimming pool, Onsen (hotspring), lovely breakfast + dinner buffet spread for adults and children / babies.
It's just about 30min drive from lake toya, perfect for families with young children.

Great Hotspring Hotel
This is a very new hotel. I love the outdoor pool with view of the forest making you feeling relax. The dinner and breakfast buffet has wide variety of choices. The bed and pillow is more on the firm/hard size thought.
