W Muscat

Beautiful hotel,well located. Nice view. The service was average on the pool and while check in no one accompanied us to our room so we were just guessing how to reach our room.

Actually, this place is a "piece of art" by all means! but few of the basics of hotel experience were missing: 1- shower temperature was fluctuating, it keeps on jumping from cold to hot water every time I showered which was very unpleasing. 2- even though I stayed only one night, room service never showed to change used towels and make up the sheets after our nap time. I was a little disappointed for that price paid for this one night.

The hotel is amazing,, nice decoration and wide room ,, the pool is nice and the roof trace is nice ,, the service is excellent .. The sorrounding area is very nice , close to the Opera House, resturants, and shopping centers

Lovely stay for our honeymoon for 3 nights in Muscat, the staff were so helpful and the hotel was of an excellent standard.

Perhaps a little bit of controversial rating, as the hotel looks amazing, but had to take one star off for the atmosphere and value. First, the good things and there are many. The design of the hotel is outstanding, from the entrance to the hotel rooms. Just what you would expect from the W and more. The rooms have the cool ultra modern artsy vibe, mixed with traditional Islamic style. Very spacious, superb bed, excellent amenities, nice bathroom. My room had a terrace with a sea view, though it was angled so don't expect to be drinking a cocktail and enjoy a full view of the sunset. The pool is large and had been designed to have a Miami style chill and was supposed to be open 24 hours. Here is why I took one star off. It seems like the property is trying too hard to be an exclusive scene-y place. I felt the emphasis is on the bar, club and the hotel is an add-on. I understand the concept, as I live in NYC and frequent Miami, but I am questioning the concept for Muscat. Not sure if it is because the hotel is new, but it also felt empty and slightly like a ghost place. The staff was also indifferent at most, except for the breakfast wait staff, who were fantastic. I went to the pool, which was deserted, had a tape at the entrance and good luck trying to find a towel or get a drink. Overall, I did not feel very welcomed at the hotel and for $400 a night and $50 for breakfast, more is to be desired.

Great rooms. Great facilities. Not all facilities/restaurants open yet. But a great stay. And service will improve as the staff are more used to

The building and the rooms are decent but the service is a huge let down for a 5 star hotel and especially for the W. Firstly they were extremely late organizing the room for check in. The check in time was 3 pm but the room was not ready by then and they were not helpful when I asked for an update on the room. When we asked the hotel to arrange a boat excursion, the concierge had quoted and informed us that they had booked a private tour only to find that they had booked a group tour when we arrived at the marina. We contacted the hotel multiple times to try and get in touch with the concierge so that they could sort out the booking but no one was helpful and they kept saying they would call us back but no one did. The service is abysmal. Choose a different 5 star property if you can.

We stayed there for almost a full week with my wife. It was amazing. The location, amenities, service were all outstanding.
