Really great place to budget traveler
This was really great place to budget traveler. Atmosphere is relaxed. Owner has live in the USA and he then of course speak excellent English. He was ready to help with everything. Also he had airport car service (20$/one way).

Nice place
Nice place with kind and helpful staff and big green garden. Our ro (double) was clean and spacious enough. Shared bathroom. There is no bar or restaurant on site but they always have soft drinks and beer in the fridge, and you can ask them to cook a simple but nice dinner for you. At the moment we were there there was no wifi. Location a bit out of town. You need a taxi to move around.

A home away from home
I spent an amazing six nights at Baobab backpackers lodge. It definitely felt like home and I was genuinely sad to leave. Aron (the owner) made sure I had everything I needed, recommended places to go and organised a return private taxi service (at a very reasonable rate) for me to go hiking at Michiru Nature Sanctuary (highly recommend!). His staff Tiyamike and Abdulrahim were very helpful and great people to chat to about Blantyre and advice for getting around on your own, which I often like to do. There are also two lovely dogs at the property, Auber and Peter who are the sweetest pets. I'm a cat person but those dogs are just adorable. There is so much lovely green space on the property and I enjoyed having breakfast and yoga practice outside. I love that you can cook your own meals and the market is just a 30 min walk away. There's also food and drink available for purchase if you don't feel like cooking. There's no doubt in my mind that I'll be staying here when next I return to Blantyre. Thanks for a great experience!
