The minuses on this hotel are somewhat minor. The empty lots around the hotel are overgrown making the area look seedy. The karaoke places on either side play booming music until 10pm. The restaurant is only open for the free breakfast service, not lunch or dinner. Those said, we thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay. The staff went over and above to assist us - from laundry, extending our stay, loaning their personal phones for in-country calls and more. The breakfast select was vast with both eastern and western foods available, including a made to order egg station. The wifi was strong in the rooms and lobby. There are safes in each room. The air con can be left on even after you have removed your key from the switch that controls power to the room. And there was plenty of hot water. The lobby is large with many places to sit. The front desk is manned around the clock. The harbor, where one can take a day cruise out in the bay, is a block away. There are many restaurants and shops in the area surrounding the hotel, with more under construction. The shops at the harbor have a large selection of anything a traveler could need, including bathing suits. While not related to the hotel, one can, as we did, rent an entire cruise ship for a private tour of Ha Long bay.
