I recently stayed at your hotel, expecting a room with a river and mountain view, which I had specifically paid for. Upon arrival, I was placed in a room with no such view, surrounded by buildings instead. When I raised this issue with the first receptionist, a man, he was extremely rude and dismissive. He claimed this was a “marketing issue” and said that the room I had booked wasn’t possible. This was frustrating, as I had selected the room based on the descriptions provided by your hotel.
When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told none were available. Instead, I was offered an upgrade for an additional £6000, which was outrageous. After further discussion, I was promised that the correct room would be available the next day. However, when I returned the following day, I was informed that the room had been given to someone else.
The experience deteriorated further the next morning when I asked a different receptionist, a woman, what time breakfast closed. She curtly told me 10:00 AM. As I began to walk away, she suddenly asked for my room number. When I questioned why, she responded that she wanted to check if I had paid the deposit. This felt inappropriate and discriminatory, especially since she wasn’t asking this of other guests. It was unprofessional, uncomfortable, and borderline racist.
