HIGHWAY MOTEL
My stay felt like being in a highway motel. The room lacked basic amenities such as napkins and a water bottle, and there were no side tables. The staff was unhelpful. It seems that an East Indian company has taken over, and they've introduced an unexpected "resort fee."

Hidden Valley is no hidden gem
This place may have potential, but sadly, it rests on its laurels and falls short on many levels. The general upkeep is a problem. There are gross carpet stains in the halls, water stains on ceilings, and the resort looks worn and dated, generally speaking. The restaurant service was disorganized, slow and painful to endure. The kitchen was also disorganized and the food was mediocre at best. We should have been partially comped for the meals and service, but there was no one in charge to speak to. The only saving grace is the view which is simply gorgeous with the fall colours. Is it worth the price of a night's stay at Hidden Valley, I don't think so.

Disappointing stay
Beautiful surroundings and the pool, hot tub, and restaurant all had the wow factor!! Our room had two doors to adjoining rooms and they were clearly paper thin because it was unreasonable how loud it was!! We had screaming babies for HOURS on both sides of us and those poor families would have had no clue how much those cries carried into other rooms. Basic things in the room were also not taken care of such as any soap in the bathroom dispenser or a working coffee maker. With a few minor adjustments, this would be a stunning place to stay!

We enjoyed our stay, however, the dinner at your restaurant was horrible especially for the price. The shower water was ice cold when my spouse showered on Saturday morning, most likely due ti the high volume of people showering as there was a wedding reception that day at your hotel. Also, we did not get much sleep Friday night due to a bon fire, voices carried. Saturday night we could not get to sleep due to the loud music. We would love to return someday, just unsure if this is a normal occurrence on weekends. F. Nicholas Cremer

The hotel needs a huge upgrade for the price we paid. We were going stay 2 nights but only stayed 1 night due to noise from adjacent room. We did advise the front desk And they did advise the adjacent room to keep quiet but they did not.As indicated by the front desk , the following day, that all rooms have adjacent rooms and though they do have doors in between, there is no noise barrier between the doors. Also there a huge gap under the main door which allows noise and light in from the hallway. Also the indoor pool was not available due to a maintenance issue. We will never, never stay at this hotel again.

Staff was great, resort was clean, I would definitely come back. Loved the swimming area and beach. Only thing I would try to change is too have more then one person at the front desk from 4-5pm.

Property is dated and in need of a refresh. Location is very good - right beside Deerhurst and only a few minutes drive to Huntsville. Enjoyed having access to kayaks to use on the lake.

We have been visiting this property for many years and it is sad to see it in disrepair. The steps leading down to the grounds were badly peeling, in need of a simple paint job. The tennis courts continue to decay, year by year. Such a shame for a resort so nicely situated on Penn Lake, with beach access. A little pride of ownership and management would go a long way.
