We had 3 separate bookings with 2 young kids families, booked the whole Tasmania trip back in August for our Christmas trip. After long day of drive, we arrived around 8:30pm at the property. Upon check in, they told us they can’t find any of our bookings, Expedia didn’t send our booking through, and the hotel is full, none of us has a room. We were left on the street with nowhere to go at 9pm. Then she relocated us (1 family to a small granny flat style cottage at someone’s else property. The rest to a inn, rooms directly above a pub!) we had to check in at the bar with kids, there were 4 or 5 drunk people there. Not an environment we would choose for kids at all. We then contacted Expedia, and Expedia told us it was a double booking. Totally unacceptable situation! Ruined our holiday, & we had to quickly book something expensive for the second night last minute.
