Beautiful stay at Esencia!
We had a wonderful stay at Esencia! The staff were so friendly and helpful. The grounds and pool were beautiful, well kept and clean. The rooms are set back from the main road so it was very quiet and we enjoyed listening to and seeing birds and monkeys from our balcony! Great location as well-directly across the street from the main surf break and next door to an excellent restaurant, Somos.

I LOVED my stay at Esencia. The people were absolutely amazing that worked there. Very friendly, helpful, and kind. The property itself is in the most perfect location - right across the street from the beach, walking distance to everything, and was clean and wonderful. I very much enjoyed my stay there.

The property was beautiful, Beds and pillows were comfortable. I had a coffee maker and fridge in the room. Had a Hammock on our front deck to lay in. Pool was fantastic. Would gladly stay there again.

Sweet bungalow with kitchenette. Nice décor and porch with teak furniture and hammock. Attractive pool area, and restaurants within short walk. The air conditioning makes for good sleeping as it’s hot and humid. Staff has been warm and welcoming.

This is a unique town with a very laid back vibe. We loved the ease of it all. The only down side was that the room did not have an iron or hangers (we were there for a wedding). The front desk Clerk Annabelle was wonderful and very helpful.

The villa was super cute, very clean, and the area very walkable. They had security as well, which was an added plus. Two things that could be improved— internet speed was ridiculously slow or nonexistent at times. I also asked for an iron at 6pm and they just told me, sorry housekeeping is gone until tomorrow. So the service lacked a bit there…

Aging hotel in a good location
The hotel is located in what is probably the best part of town, with relatively easy access to a good surf point (it's still a walk and a half to get to the water, but that's always the case unless you are right on the beach). Rooms are large, but their age shows. Showers offer either good water flow or hot water, but not both. I had to basically hike to my room that was located at the top of the hill. The hotel lacks the charm and cool factor of Somos, that's right next door. It is across the street from the only "disco" in town, but the place seemed to be a bit of a dive. The hotel doesn't offer late checkout at all, which I found problematic.

La propreté de la salle de bain laissait à désirer. (moisissures dans les coins, scellant autour de la toilette noirci, eau chaude inconstante...) Endroit avec beaucoup de potentiel, mais besoin de rénovations majeures. Nous considérons que nous avons payé trop cher pour ce que nous avons eu. L'espace piscine était bien, mais la piscine n'était pas propre et eau brouillée.

Hotel bien ubicado y limpio...el unico pero es el acceso hasta las habitaciones ,gran cuesta de piedras por la que tienes que ir con las maletas y luego escaleras....y si te tica como a mi segunda planta,mas escaleras aun. Viaje en pareja y amigos
Es la segunda vez que me hospedó acá y lo recomiendo, tienen habitaciones espaciosas, limpias. La piscina la mantienen limpia y el personal es muy amable. Esta muy cerca de la playa (pueden ir caminando) y hay restaurantes cerca. Lo único que cambiaría es colocar cortinas Blackout ya que durante la mañana entra mucha luz.
