Far away from downtown . Stairs only no Lyft . If you check in late , you must go to the bar at street level to retrieve key . Lady was very helpful , but none the less I was caught in 2 hens parties held that evening and I just wanted to get to my room ..

We had a great 3 night stay at Hardgate Hotel. Unfortunately the Speckle Wood restaurant is now closed so had to go elsewhere for food. Breakfast wasn’t included but there was tea/coffee/etc supplied. Room was very clean and shower was great, rain shower or standard. Only some minor negatives and these are:- Need a full length mirror More hangers for wardrobe Need hooks on back of room door or on wall area for hanging up coats Bed was way too soft for us and affected sleep and need a better selection of pillows. There is a bar downstairs called Quoiters and that’s where you check in and collect keys. If you’re planning on having a drink there, some of the language is “choice” so be warned or broad-minded. :-) All in all we had an enjoyable stay and would use again as it is a perfect location for our requirements

Huone oli remontoitu ja siisti. Suihku oli erinomainen, täysin 5/5. Melua kuuluu ulkoa eikä ole ilmastointia, mutta meitä se ei haitannut. Nukuimme korvatulpat korvissa ikkuna auki ja oli oikein hyvä nukkua. Hotelli näyttää ankealta ulkoa, mutta sisältä huoneet ovat oikein hyvät. Pöydällä oli myös vedenkeitin ja kahvipusseja. Kaikki oli hyvin hoidettua huoneiden sisällä.

Hotelli näyttää ankealta mutta se on vain ulkokuori. Perhehuone oli tilava ja miellyttävä. Ikkunat oli uusittu ja ne olivat sisäpihalle, eli oli rauhallista. Huoneet ovat moderneja ja hyviä (tämä oli meidän toinen kertamme tässä hotellissa). Suihku on todella hyvä. Todella hyvä kokemus ja tulisimme uudelleen. Huone oli myös erittäin siisti. Tien toisella puolella on Tesco. Huoneessa ei ole jääkaappia, se on ainut (ja pieni) miinuspuoli. Rouva joka antoi meille avaimet, oli superystävällinen ja ihana.

The house is unique & beautiful. The hosts are friendly & helpful. Breakfasts were wonderful in a lovely room flooded with sunshine overlooking the bay. Such a nice visit!

Very good

Does not look much from the outside but inside very clean and comfortable. We had a great nights sleep following a friends birthday party in the function suite. Great breakfast at the The Hardgate Cafe across the road.

Parking was a shambles. Had to just dump my car. Staff were friendly but no reception area so have to just walk around aimlessly until you find somebody No curtains on the windows, just a blind so as soon as it’s light, expect to be awake. The room I had faced the car park and enterprise building which had flood lights all night so the room was lit up! Hardly any sleep. No hairdryer or iron facilities in the room! Very basic

We stayed here for a visit to Braehead arena which worked out well location-wise. Other than that, I've nothing positive to say unfortunately. We first had a hard time finding it, and the way in - car park wasn't signposted, and we were directed to the noisy bar to check-in, then from there sent back to main hotel. In there we ended up in the function room and were lucky a member of staff happened to be there to let us in to where our room was. Up two flights of stairs while left is broken isn't great. The room was OK but despite being on 2nd floor we could hear the music from the function room, as well as people coming in at a late hour to their room. In the morning it was disappointing to find no hairdryer, and no 'real' tea (I had a few decaf bags, coffee, and some sugar). We only got 2 wee uht milks which wasn't enough for us both to have a hot drink, so I phoned and messaged as instructed to ask for a hairdryer, milk and tea, and I've yet to hear back... After an hr as we were needing to get out, my son went across to Tesco for me and I'd to leave with wet hair. When I got in the shower there was an eye make up brush lying in it, suggesting it hadn't been cleaned. I then made a cup of tea and hot choc before we left, but had to wash the mugs as they were visibly dirty.

Excellent stay

I was staying to be close to the hospital while my husband had an operation. The hotel was clean well decorated and furnished. The security was excellent and for my first solo stay i felt very safe and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful

Stayed a Saturday night with children. Was not aware there would be a party in the function room below us. Very loud music until 12.30am, could hear every lyric, the dj and the bass was so loud. Totally disappointed. Very limited staff although those that were there were nice, not their fault I think they were embarrassed about it. They gave free earplugs so knew it was going to be noisy but no good for my children. Just feel like they could have reached out prior to arrival to ensure we knew about this. I’ve expressed this in a message to the hotel but had no response. Hotel was basic, which we knew it would be, but was hard to find, poor signage. The room was a bit dated and in need of some attention on the walls, quite a lot of paint peeling off around electrical sockets. Although the bathroom was lovely and seemed to have been more recently done. The room was hot with no air con. Wouldn’t stay again as the whole idea of a room for the night is to be able to sleep!

The hotel was clean, very hard to find, no one told us about the stairs, NO LIFT, could have been a big problem, only stayed one night, would not have stayed longer, stairs were a big problem.

Very basic, no clear signage to reception (just a little room with a blind over the window, no restaurant on site (not detailed in listing), no bath towel in the room. Not what was expected based on the listing. Very clean though on the positive side.

Yes to both. Room very clean. Staff friendly. We have two concerns. The main one was that the lift wasn't working and none of the rooms were on the ground, or first, floor. We weren't warned of this beforehand. There were also steps outside down to get to the hotel part and up to get to the restaurant part. Also, we found the room very very hot overnight and couldn't do anything about it. Otherwise fine.

Nice place. Hallways and surrounding areas were kinda run down. But don’t be deceived because the room itself was great! Room was clean and organized, bathroom was nice and clean! And some cool little things in the room like a mirror with a Bluetooth speaker built in (nice for jamming out in the shower lol) and a really cool lamp that turns on/off with just a touch! It’s also nice that there’s a Tesco right across the street, super convenient! Just kinda wish outside the room was better kept, but hey, I’m not sleeping the hallways right! Also there is no elevator; not an issue for me as I like walking, but something to consider if you don’t like stairs. Overall, good stay and would recommend!

Car park dark - was unsure how safe the car would be Room was cold - no heating. Had to request heating to be turned on. Function on first night - offered masks and ear plugs and then after check out discovered we had been charged £14 per person for these - rip off Had to carry bags up three flights of stairs as no lift. No hairdryer in room.
