A pleasant surprise
A very classic and simple hotel. A good value, and very restful atmosphere. The front desk clerk Maria was quite helpful on several occasions. The breakfast was the best deal in Santiago by far.

Room was very small and very basic not even a bedside lamp breakfast was very basic reception not very helpful nearly hot locked on the morning we were leaving they told us we didn't need a barrier card but only because we checked the evening before leaving we did need the card the parking was the only plus to this accommodation
Ever wish to stay in a convent? This is the chance
This converted convent oozes ambience! Potted plants in the hallways, pictures of popes on the wall, brass plates on the room doors naming the nun who lived there in the past. Staying here just puts you in the Santiago de Compostela mood. Rooms are very simple, very basic but functional. Staff are very nice. Easy check in/out. Close to both the old and new town, a large park and the camino to Finesterra.

Great and cheap accomodation.
Only 10 minute walk to the Cathedral square. Pleasant walking thru park with great views of the city when walking. The accommodation is like an old nunnery. Room was basic with double and single bed. Own en-suite, with good shower pressure and clean. It was ideal after Camino walk from SJDP. You can also get a great breakfast for 5€ and worth it. We ended up staying another night. It’s not an Albergue but ideal price and service.

Beggars belief.
This was by far the worst hotel we stopped during our two and half week tour. It actually was not even a hotel but a religious retreat connected to the university. It was dark spartan and stark. You really need to research what you class as a hotel Very poor

Lovely, simple and quiet accommodation
For a cheap hotel, we thoroughly enjoyed the Hospederia. It was a little chilly in October but we still would return. The garden, staff and building were magnificent. It was wonderfully quiet and a nice break to be away from the tourist quarter. We enjoyed being on the university campus. We would return.

unusual, but pleasant
Not sure what this place was in its former life, but now it serves as a somewhat oddly arranged budget hotel/retreat center. Our room was attached to what might have been the old principal's office. In any case, the staff was friendly, which was helpful since our reservation never made it into their 'system', a folder full of fax print-outs that seemed to be randomly inserted as they arrived. The overall experience was quite pleasant.

Santiago de Compostela Cathedral is close by.
The place is not a hotel, more like a family retreat house. Very basic ammenities, no radio, no TV, and one must be able to enjoy silence. The location is only 10 minutes to the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, very nice surrounding.
