Alianthos Suites

The hotel is very close to the beach and has brilliant views across the bay from the hotel,the hotel is very clean but the reason why we would go back to the Alainthos Suites is the staff that work their from the gardener/handyman who always greets you with a smile and a hello and the ladies that clean the rooms always smiling and then their is Mimi and Tasos who are always their for you with their smiles and if you need anything they will help you We truly enjoyed our stay here

Amazing location next to the sea and the city of chania. A very calm hotel suits with nice scenary and very nice beach next to it. Only if the bar could stay for a longer time or mayb to have music till midnight. Mimi and katrina are amazing and super hosts ask them anything u need and they will help u with a smile.

Paradise location

Alianthos Suites offer self catering accomodation with a few additional features which combine into something unique. I would say it easily beats more prestige looking and expensive places for guest experience. The accomodation bit is based on apartments most of them facing the see and nature. The inside is usable and clean - to my complete surprise this included daily cleaning and bedlinen changes. The location (Chourafakia) is not densely populated so walking down to the beach - 5 minutes - you will not see masses of tourists. Moreover you will hardly see tourists at the local beach as 9 out 10 on the beach is greek. The water is crystal clear, warm and full of fish so you may want to consider bringing your snorkeling equipment. As a byword you do not even have to go to the beach as the pool is magnificent catering for children and adults as well. In addition to this you can walk down from the pool to the Alianthos' own rocky beach within 1 minute. The breakfast is a good variety based on local produce. The taste of tomatoes and melons just reminded me of flavours from my childhood. Greek hospitality comes into its own in this place and based on my experience visiting Italy, France, Spain, Portugal this is the winner of all our mediterranean holidays.

Beautiful and pleasant

The hotel was nice and clean. The service was warm and welcoming. The location is about 20 min from Chanias's Old Town, a bit challenging specially if driving at night. Overall very pleasant.

Perfect relaxing break

Wonderful staff. Willing to help. Beautiful setting and lovely location. Small bay and taverna 2 minutes walk away. Plenty of sun beds around the pool. Very good tennis court. Best to have a car if you want more taverna choice and don't want a fair walk to a supermarket.

2 nights in Crete

Alianthos was a decent place for a couple nights stay for our small family. Unfortunately, when we booked we were traveling with a friend and booked a single unit with 2 rooms so we could all be together. When we arrived we were in 2 separate units. I feel the rooms could've been cleaner. The air conditioner wasn't on when we arrived and there were some bugs inside the rooms. The internet did not work at all in the rooms. It worked only in the lobby where there was no air conditioning. The best thing of this place was the swimming area in the back. We practically had it to ourselves. There was even a lounge chair and beach umbrella to keep from direct sunlight. The waters were pretty rough for little ones though. We really enjoyed the little beach in the area. Good enough stay for 2 nights.

Alianthos in May

Very good location overlooking the Bay of Chania. An excellently presented suite - clean, and well equipped with good outdoor furniture on a large balcony. Attractive and comfortable swimming pool area and gardens. Most importantly excellent service from the staff of Peri and Luda who were welcoming, helpful and dedicated.

Perfect for a quiet 'getaway'

Brilliant. We made good use of the courts, pool and pool bar. Xena and George couldn't have been more accommodating. Great little resort in a lovely location.

Disastrous situation turned into an enjoyable stay

My boyfriend and I arrived at this location in Chania last week and upon driving through the gate we immediately knew something was off. It appeared that the entire estate had been abandoned. There was trash everywhere and all the bushes were overgrown and clearly nothing had been maintained for some time. We arrived and tried to get someones attention and a man walks out in what appears to be his pajamas, but he quickly goes back inside and gets dressed appropriately. When he comes back out he explains to us how they have been experiencing many issues lately and he apologizes, but they are going to take us to another hotel on the other side of the island for the duration of our stay. This made us feel a little better, but we weren't sure what the hotel would look like. I will have to say it was a far drive to the other location, but the man took us the entire way and had called ahead to the hotel to ensure they had a nice room waiting for us. Even though the Alianthos Suites was in shambles we were very pleased with the warm welcome and terrific room overlooking the beach that the hotel had provided us for our stay. The hotel staff at Indigo Mare went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our time and were very apologetic for the mishap. I believe they may be owned by the same person so they are sister hotels. Wish we would have been notified ahead of time of the problem, but overall it turned out alright in the end and we had a pleasant stay at the Indigo Mare hotel.
