Room007 Ventura Hostel

Great hostel, full of character! Friendly and helpful staff, great deal on dinner at the attached restaurant. Super convenient to visiting the Sol district and the palace and cathedral on foot or by train. Room spacious and bright, great facilities, our only objection that the "double" bed was actually two singles pushed together - not very conducive to snuggling up in bed! One tip - skip the 2€ breakfast deal unless you just want an easy meal; the breakfast was plentiful but pretty average compared with the amazing food to be found all over Madrid.

I booked a double room with private bathroom and shower. It's located on the first floor facing the terrace so it's very noisy at night. Location is excellent. One girl at front desk can speak pretty good English but the rest is a bit difficult to communicate with as most Spanish people don't speak English. If you don't mind the noise and crowds at reception, it's a cheaper central place to consider compared to hotels. If you need good sleep, go somewhere else. Shower and water is a pain in the butt - you have to keep pressing the buttons every 5-10 seconds. I will not return to this place.
