Totally mixed feelings about Sophia. The place itself was beautiful, with good (although flashy) decoration and attention to details, with a couple of details but totally to be expected for this price range and the fact that this year the tourist business is completely in crisis in Turkey due to the war in Syria. Mr. Rifat, the manager, was very kind but something strange happened:
We had clearly booked the "Studio" room specifically because it included a kitchenette and we needed it to prepare a herbal medicine each night and convenience. But when we got there we were kindly shown to a normal Double Room, without kitchenette. Upon informing Mr. Rifat of this he acted very uncomfortable and said that the Studio was occupied but that the next day he would change us there. The next day, he was nowwhere to be found in the morning and the night. The next next day I left a note to him with my mobile number. He called us and didn't seem to remember the situation, but he said that we would talk that afternoon. Upon arriving, after kindly offering us a tea, he told us that despite the fact that he had told us to pack to be ready to change (he never said that), they had packed our things (!!!) and moved us to another apartment in another property (!!??). The other apartment was cold and humid, so we asked to go back and did.
Again, the place is beautiful and clean, but this situation made us VERY uncomfortable. I hope him the best but it was like this. Very sad to write this.
