Hotel Boutique At The Park

Location, location, location! Beautiful view onto a plaza, with great music and food and vibrant life just steps from the front. The service was fabulous - we were even allowed to keep our room until the evening since our flight was late at night - what a wonderful gesture!

Our air conditioner didn't work, so the room was very hot. (25c

Highly recommend this hotel for these reasons - 1. Location is perfect overlooking a charming plaza with easy & very fun walks to 3 other close by plazas for great restaurants, boutique shopping, nightlife or just strolling through the best part of the old town. I’ve enjoyed so many nights sitting on the balcony overlooking the plaza....charming. 2. Staff and owner are personable and gracious. They go out of their way to make your stay wonderful by individually suggesting more events and personal tours. Both the owner and Melanie speak fluent English, Portuguese, German, French and Spanish to help. 3. Rooms are spotless and a good value. You can choose a quiet room in the back or have a front room with a balcony overlooking the plaza nighttime fun. Room size was quite large. 4. Pool now available. The hotel just put in a nicely done pool. 5. Secure for safety with very little car traffic in front of Hotel. 6. Great made to order breakfast with many choices. To summarize, if you want a small, charming boutique hotel in a great location with a very friendly helpful staff, this is an excellent choice at a good value.

Maria and her staff are simply wonderful!! The hotel is being updated. which it sorely needs, but the location inside the walled city was perfect for exploring the area. At night, it can be loud if the park is packed with live musicians. the breakfast didn't offer lots of options but was made to order. It's one of the few hotels in the walled city with sleeping space for a family of four. The shower was super small so might be a challenge for larger people. For the price, this is nice little place to begin your exploration of this wonderful city.

What a gem! The fabulous location and amazing staff really made our trip special! Also, very nice air conditioning with remote control and lots of hot water for showers so we were always comfortable. Nice botique hotel located in the walled city next to a small park with activity and restaurants etc.but very quiet for sleeping in spacious clean rooms. Owner/manager on premise to assure quality control. Wifi in the rooms. TV and air con, hot water in the showers. Bright and cheerfully decorated. Excellent breakfasts cooked to order. Natural fruit juices not from a "can" or watered down. Accommodating bi lingual staff. Very secure and fairly priced.

I stayed at the hotel with one of my friends on my spring break and I had an overall enjoyable stay. The location is central to most attractions in Cartagena. The daily breakfast was delicious, the service was amazing, and the staff were amazing. I greeted all staff that I came across and hugged them before I left during breakfast. Rafael, this young man was amazing and we appreciate everything he did to help us, from directions, helping with selections, brewing tea, and having casual conversations. Ricardo was also really helpful with selections of things to do. Maria was the utmost knowledgeable person overall. All three of these staff were helpful, kind, and honest. I also appreciated all of the helping staff...I'm missing another major young man-I can't remember his name, but he was awesome as well. The cleanliness of the hotel was great and I felt safe all the time. The only uncomfortable thing was the bed squeaking. Overall I would recommend people to stay here.

Lovely small hotel on a park in the heart of the walled city. Easy walking to everything and wonderful staff (especially Rafael) & cooked to order breakfasts. Very strong AC & hot water. Some noise from the restaurant nextdoor at night. My room was a little dark but there's a great sitting area with chairs, couches, and rocking chairs looking out onto the park. Would definitely return.

Beautiful hotel, great location, friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast. Only problem is that many rooms face on interior courtyards and not outside, but good air conditioning (necessary) and quiet.
