The Bad:
The room was significantly smaller than expected. The double bed stretched from wall to wall with a thin mattress, making the space feel cramped. The window didn't open, and the air conditioning was locked to heating mode, making the room uncomfortably warm. Vents were visibly dusty, and the provided air filter had an expired, dust-filled filter. The fridge could only hold about eight bottles of water and barely cooled them below room temperature. The restaurant/lounge was closed (and has been since early January), which was disappointing. The TV was small, offered only local satellite channels, and the remote was in Japanese with no streaming options. The provided clothing didn’t accommodate anyone over 6 feet tall or 200 lbs.
Additionally, the laundry detergent or fabric softener used on the linens was very strong, causing my skin to itch throughout my stay. I typically use fragrance-free products at home, so while I can’t fault them for this, it was uncomfortable.
The Good:
The bathroom was excellent—modern with a heated toilet seat and a combined bathtub/shower room. The internet worked fine, and the staff was helpful and courteous. The lobby offered convenient extras like a microwave, razors, and tea/coffee. The location was great, with easy access to trains/metro stations, plenty of nearby restaurants, and even a Starbucks.
Housekeeping provided fresh clothes, towels, and two bottles of water daily. While the thought was appreciated, it felt a bit wasteful
