We reserved a corner suite for 4 nights. We paid extra for the room because we were hoping for a nice stay in the City. We had stayed there before, and a corner room was a very nice size and very light with the extra floor to ceiling windows. When we got there, the front desk told us that a corner suite was not available, but that they'd substitute a "larger room." He claimed that it was so large, it had a "sofa" with pull out bed. It wasn't. By any stretch. The actual room we had was tucked behind the elevators on the 29th floor, so it was extra small. You couldn't even sit at the desk and catch up on email because the desk chair wouldn't even fit between the bed and the desk. The windows weren't floor to ceiling, so the room was dark. The "sofa" was actually a pulll out chair bed. If you were to actually use it, you'd have to run across all the beds to move around the room. Even if you didn't pull it out, there wasn't even room to lay out our suitcases. The bathroom was extra tiny, with a compact sink arrangement. It wasn't just small. It was stupid small, and remember, we had paid EXTRA for an extra large corner room.
Then, we found out that the fitness room had been closed and turned into a luggage closet. My wife was thoroughly upset. It was absurd, and we felt cheated and we will never, NEVER stay there again. We felt cheated.
