The hotel was excellent and staff were polite
My room had a great view of a very long coast line
I didn’t find much to do in the immediate area but it was very close to train / subway
Top floor lounge bar is excellent too take a trip up there
I was only there two nights my big complaint was the bed pillows very hard and full of grit like straw ( not sure what it was ? )

If you are not Japanese, better to avoid this hotel. They even charges for the water. The breakfast is just awful. Very old and not updated. They make business just to upset the customers.

Huge cockroach
The hotel is okay. A but run down. We had two rooms. There was a massive cockroach in one of them. That in itself isn’t the worst thing, but the staff didn’t seem to care much, which was disappointing. I had asked for a 12 pm checkout (as opposed to the standard 11 am) for one of the rooms but was denied.

Overall it was ok. Hotel is outdated and no gym, no pool. For the price you will think at least a gym but no. Good location.

The hotel is very convenient to the train station and many amenities in the area. However, the rooms need to be updated. The cabinet door to the refrigerator was not properly connected. There were only 2 small drawers to unpack your clothes which forced you to live out of your suitcase. The carpeting was unraveling. NEEDS UPDATING.

Shabby, badly managed.
This hotel need upgrading: new carpets, paint.. It is badly managed. Despite being quite empty it doesn't let people check in before 2PM. Later the lobby fills with waiting guests. One takes a number. The understaffed desk cannot manage. The process is cumbersome and everybody is unhappy.
Finally the pillows are the world's worst: filled with rice?
If you like frustration stay at the Grand Hills Shizuoka.
The only plus is its convenient location at the train station.

Stunning hotel! Had a fantastic experience staying at this hotel in Shizuoka. The staff were great, the hotel lobby was stunning and the facilities (restaurants) were amazing. The hotel room was beautiful, spacious, lovely bathroom and very comfortable. The view was incredible, looking out to see the city and mountains. On a clear day you can see Mt Fuji.
The hotel is very close to the station, great location!
I will stay here again in the future.

We had an upgrade to a corner suite that had a great view over the city. Then in the morning we woke to this fantastic view of Mt Fuji. It was a memorable stay.

Nice hotel next to the Shizuoka station. The included breakfast is traditional Japanese and very good. Walking distance to many restaurants and shopping. Recommend.
