5 nights at the Townhouse!
Check in was a breeze with the staff super helpful. I had a king room on level 4 which was extremely comfortable. There was a coffee machine (Nespresso) with a couple of pods, as well as your standard coffee and tea fixings. Small milk in the fridge. The bed was possibly the most comfortable bed i have slept on in a long time with lovely soft pillows. All towels were in amazing condition and were also super soft and clean. Toiletries were nice quality. Air con unit provided great heating for cooler nights. The only down side to the hotel? Water pressure in the shower was terrible. There was just no force behind it, it almost just dribbled out. I had also placed my towels back on the rack so i could reuse (try and reduce the need for excess water usage where I can) but they were still changed over. Parking at the hotel is also limited. There is a bistro onsite, along with a little pokie area which gets the locals in. With them using the hotel carpark, guests are advised to park on the street or across the road in the public carpark at McDonald's. Not ideal when you've got suitcases and what not. Maybe those patronizing the bistro could do that instead, leaving the hotel carpark for guests staying there. Just a thought... Love the location though, a few minutes walk and you're in the city centre and Maccas across the road for a sneaky late night chai! I would happily stay here again 🤗

Couple get away
When we arrived at the hotel we were a bit wary as it looked "old". We were also concerned that the Hotels.com site said there was no reception but that "a host would attend to us". Well no. There was a reception desk and Georgina who attended us was fantastic. Our room was huge and very comfortable. It had everything we needed and the bistro in the bar had the most fantastic food at extremely reasonable prices. Also this hotel had free parking and was only a 10min walk to the very centre of town and the shore. Highly recommend this place. Will stay here again if we get back to Burnie.

Unfortunately, the restaurant wasn’t open on Sunday’s, nor do they do housekeeping but fresh linen is dropped off.

Well positioned. Blocked sink, silver fish on a bed, mouldy shower, dead batteries in remote controls for television and air conditioning.

4/10 Fair

Aside from the nice girl on reception (who was extremely accommodating while arranging the booking), the rest of this experience was pretty awful. Black mould all over the shower screen (which was on backwards), little black hairs all over the place. A noisy bunch of party-goers in the room a few doors up kept us awake. Dust everywhere. Weird little sections which hadn't been vacuumed. Not a good experience - we woke up feeling rather unwell. I read other reviews suggesting the room was nice and clean, so maybe it was just room 419 that has these grotty issues.

4/10 Fair

I like the location and convenience of the hotel I have stayed there many times with no issues what so ever, but this time I had extremely loud drunk neighbours which I think was made worse with the interconnecting door between the rooms allowing more noise to filter in! I also believe they were smoking vapes in the room and playing loud music and drinking until late into the night. Then the loud disgusting vomiting started and lasted over an hour and the smell from that was even worse. I complained to staff on checkout but as there was no one there to sort it out during the night i along with many of other guests who also complained had a very restless night. The staff were very apologetic and nice about it but and it is in no way their fault but I think a small compensation should have been offered. Also parking is ridiculous I had to park out on the street nearly a block away as there was no parking at the hotel left with people parking there to go out to dinner in the restaurant and no parking directly across from the car park along the side of the road!

Rooms not ready on time, although manager got it ready in 30mins. Room not cleaned properly (dirt on floor, food crumbs on table). Very limited parking, had to wait in car park for a vehicle to leave eventually. Power tripped out twice in the room.
