If you're looking for a good nights sleep, Phoenix Pods is not the hotel for you. It appears to be a fairly newly fitted out hotel, above a convenience store outside the centre of Liverpool. The entrance is around the side, hidden away. The fire doors (which of course I appreciate are needed) in this hotel all have very hard close attachments, so when you walk through, unless you turn and slow them down yourself they bang like a door in a wind tunnel - every single one. We had the joy of being in room 115, which on arrival seemed great as it was the first room to the right practically on the first floor, however it was also next to the first floor access door which every person who stayed on the first floor had to use, which banged every single time someone went through, from night until morning. Falling to sleep, fine, being woke up every 10-20 minutes, draining. I will not be returning, I'm knackered.
