Definitely needs some upgrades
This place is a very old city hotel; it is in a great location; but definitely could use some upgrades. Some areas of the carpet did not even have color left . No WiFi in the room

This is a property Expedia and other websites should drop! Carpet: 1950's, worn through, Mattress early 1990's, curtains don't look like they have been washed since smoking in rooms was still legal. We were one of the several people at the front desk cancelling our second night. We made it through one with lots of antihistamines. I feel sorry for the old people who still try to run it as if it is worth staying in. It needs a major overhaul to ever be a decent hotel again. The picture must be of a room they dressed up for pictures. No parking, they didn't care what their description said. You would not want to park there if you could, you would probably find a homeless person sleeping in it in the morning. Breakfast was factory bread with cheap cuts of meat and processed cheese. A very sad place in a very sad state in an overall pretty good location.

Good points: it’s a convenient location that’s marred by rough sleepers and the current roadworks. Metro very close. It’s cheap, with 24/7 reception. Bad points: Linen clean but stained. Carpets laughably worn and stained, layers of dust on mouldings, and the ceiling in my bathroom was starting to fall down. Entire hotel battered and ancient, a century’s old building last updated / decorated in the ‘50s by the look of it. Furniture was mostly chipped Formica, the room had just 1 power socket used by the TV, there was no shower curtain. My room looked out on a “light well” mostly filled with a fire escape so the room lights HAD to be on. Given the price, I wasn’t expecting much from the included breakfast, and it met my expectations. Overall, it sounds worse than it was, I stayed 2 nights and slept well, and was out sightseeing most of the time.

Woke up at 1am covered in bed bugs… I moved to another room which had a leaky toilet and sounded like the room was adjoining a night club… got into bed and realised there were more bed bugs than the other room… there were no other rooms left. I ended up lying in the Bath on a towel as it seemed the only bed bug free part of the room…unable to sleep a wink all night as the shower head was constantly dripping on me.. after I spent 2 hours flicking the bugs off my luggage and clothing, and out of my hair. Didn’t stop to see what breakfast was like - there was a man sleeping in reception due to bug infestations in his room. Carpets stained and generally grotty everywhere… for the love of God stay away from this hell hole!!

Horrible!
The room was minute, the toilet was broken and I had to flush by filling the trash can with water and dumping it into the bowl, and I'm pretty sure I got bitten by bedbugs. This is clearly a third-rate hotel. The only nice thing is that it's very well located.

Well, I'll start with the positive. The location of the hotel is great and walking distance to metro or anything else is easy. Now onto the negatives. First and most important is the bed bugs. The first night I didn't notice them until the spots started showing up all over my body around 4 pm. The second night was awful. I had about 50 bites from them and found several crawling around the bed when I woke up. On top of that, the loaction is noisy in every way. Between the traffic, seemingly paper thin walls, and constantly filling toilet tank, there wasn't a moment of silence. I could never in good conscience recommend this place to anyone. Side note: Read the reservation carefully. The only wifi is in the lobby area. Anywhere else it costs 5 euros for 5 hours.

Never again
The Hotel is extremely dated and dirty. There were no amenities. Floors were filthy and cigarette butts behind the bed. The tops of the closets were covered in dust. There was no heat control in the room and no fan as a consequence it was extremely hot all night and day. Skip this one unless your seeking inspiration for Hotel Nightmares.

BED BUGS in 2 Rooms. Worst Hotel Ever.
BED BUGS BED BUGS Be aware…. I checked in and went to grab lunch. Came back and 2 hours after laying on the bed I felt itchy. Few hours hater I realize my skin is all bit. I remove the covers just to find bed bugs all over the bed. It’s 3:30am I go complain to reception. The guy at the desk (doesn’t speak English) was hesitating to give me another room after showing proof. He finally decided and upgraded me rooms. I took a shower in a DIRTY TUB. It was gross. Made me feel better though, until I checked all 3 of the beds before falling asleep at 4am. 2/3 beds had BED BUGS as well. I go downstairs in a hurry as I was grossed out. Called hotels support to find a solution. Front desk guy couldn’t care about what I had to say or what I was doing as he wasn’t all responsive. Hope to get a refund after escalating the issue with a higher up. DO NOT STAY HERE! Be aware 3/4 beds total had Bed Bugs that being 2of2 rooms. Worst place I’ve ever “stayed at” had to find a nearby hotel ti drop my bags and walk around the city till 3pm. This essential ruined my whole day.

Avoid! We booked a room for one night to stop on the way to Germany. It was so bad, we could not stay. We are not spoiled, basic room that is clean and safe would have done the job. Needles to say we were charged for something we couldn’t use. It’s disappointing that Expedia would advertise this hotel ( it’s not ) on they website.

Goof for value but not wifi in my room
The hotel is dated and that is noticeable in the conditions of the carpets, furniture and lift, but I guess that is what you can get for the price. The staff was helpful and friendly and the location is excellent and well-connected by Metro (Rogier station is within walking distance). If you come from Severtem airport there is a bus that leaves you very nearby so if you have enough time it can be very cheap. The only major problem that I experienced is that the internet service is only working on the first and second floor and my room was in room 8. This was a real shame because if I wanted to use their wifi I need to go to the reception which is not a comfortable place to work. I saw that there was a group having a conference or events on the second floor and they were working from there, but again it is not practical for the many guests visiting Brussels mainly for work not to have access to wifi in their rooms. It could be argued that the inclusion of this service in the advert is deceiving.
