Ursula’s Homestead is located 20minutes out of the Victoria Falls town on the edge of a private game reserve. The lodge itself has incredible views over a watering hole and provides a lovely spot to really have some downtime.
The pro’s:The staff were just absolutely amazing! Their attentiveness, and professionalism really enhanced the stay. From the super friendly landscaper, to the hospitality team (Prudence, Priscilla, Milly, Caleb, Duncan, Geoffrey), they really are superb.
There is an onsite restaurant with which we really enjoyed every meal. The Sadza, fillets, and every breakfast we had were delicious.
The room was large and comfortable - they also provided a proper wooden crib (not a pack and play) for our infant.
The cons: it’s expensive. To add onto every expense is the cost to take the shuttle into town as it’s $12 per person per direction - highly recommend you stop in town when you can to grab some snacks and drinks as you may be adding $50 to your bill just to get to town and back for 2 people.
The biggest let down for us was the room we stayed in. While large and comfortable in terms of the bed and quality bedding, the room is older and in desperate need of a bathroom update. The water was either scalding hot or freezing cold, and the shower had mold in it. As did the floor around the bathtub as the hose leaks if it’s not in the bathtub causing pools of water on the floor. Under the bed could also do with a good clean.
Overall we enjoyed the stay
