We stayed here on the last night of our holiday, driving back from a two week stay in south west France. It was perfect, very relaxing and comfortable.
The surroundings were absolutely beautiful - we watched deer and pheasants in the field across the lake as we ate the delicious evening meal. Far better than television! Frogs serenaded us all evening.
The hosts were waiting for us when we arrived and made real efforts to help us settle in, despite our limited French.
The table d'hote meal was beautifully cooked, with an emphasis on local regional products. A good choice of matched wines was available at a reasonable price. Local cheeses featured on the optional cheese course.
Breakfast was filling and delicious, with a selection of home-made jams to complement the fresh bread and selection of cake and pastries. Juice was freshly squeezed and zesty.
We had a lovely room, with a window overlooking the garden and a very comfortable king-sized bed. The bathroom was light, spacious and well-equipped, including an electronic bin!
Our Dalmatian dog was much admired and welcomed, with pictures being taken by the hosts before we left.
We had a wonderful, restful evening in beautiful countryside, which left us refreshed for the drive back to Calais. Cannot recommend this place highly enough; we will certainly stay again if we are in the area.
