Overpriced, poor service, expensive parking
I would NOT recommend this hotel. It is overpriced and the upcharge for mandatory valet parking makes it especially offensive. All their parking is available right in front and next door to the hotel in an outdoor lot and street spots - guests could easily self-park, even for a nominal charge. Obligating us to $30/night valet parking service is simply an offensive cash grab. I found my own parking in a public garage one block away for $10 flat overnight.
Also, the first morning I was there (the day after Christmas) we were woken at 8:30am by aggressive knocking on our door by the maid. I rolled out of bed and told her my family was still asleep and she should come back in a couple hours. Eventually we went out for the day but when we came back around 5pm our room had not been made up. I called front desk about it and they said tough luck, there is nobody here to clean your room. That was it.
Maids should not be knocking on your hotel room door at 8:30am. And a front desk should do more to assist when their housekeeping staff fail to do their job.
I stayed 2 more nights in Memphis and would have extended at Springhill were it not for these two things. I found another great hotel one block away for 30% less $ per night, that had more pleasant service, an amazing rooftop deck, and didn't try to gouge me on parking.
