there are better options in ao nang…
I have stayed at one of the other Centara hotels in Ao Nang, and unfortunately, this Centara hotel does not compare to those.
Positives:
- Friendly staff
- Family-friendly. The Kids' Room and the team looking after it were excellent. Namhom, Khongkhwan, and Aon deserve five out of five stars—our kids loved spending time there.
- Good-sized pool.
Negatives:
- The check-in for one of the rooms was delayed as it was not ready. When we finally got a room, the smell of sewage was so strong that we had to request a new one. We had a pool-access room.
- Very noisy. You can hear everyone walking and talking in the hallways.
- One morning, a rat was spotted in the pool. I’m quite sure many of the pool guests were unaware of this.
- Disappointing breakfast compared to other hotels and competitors. Limited selection, queues for seating, and several instances where food ran out without being replenished.
- Nice rooms but showing significant wear and tear. Renovation is needed.
- On one of the nights, they chose to do maintenance work at 12:30 a.m. It sounded like they were pressure washing a wall. Although it didn’t last long, it’s very odd to carry out such work in the middle of the night when guests are trying to sleep
