Travellers can enjoy the amazing rock formations and breathtaking views of Marina Piccola down on the southern side of Capri. There are actually a couple of public beaches spread out along this area, mostly lined with smooth pebbles.
If you're looking for a really quiet spot away from the crowds, keep walking east to find the tiny beach of Torre Saracena. If you don't mind being around a lot of people, the larger main beaches near the Scoglio delle Sirene are just right for taking a seat with a cool drink and watching dozens of luxury yachts sail by.

Arguably Capri’s best beach, Bagni di Tiberio has been drawing in tourists and travellers for thousands of years. It's situated on the northern side of the island, and as soon as you see it, you'll realise why Roman Emperors and nobles fell in love with this place.
Bagni di Tiberio offers both pebbles and sandy spots, ideal for strolling, sunbathing, exploring, and simple relaxation. You can ride speedboats from Marina Grande across to the Bagni di Tiberio beach. There are several amenities nearby including restrooms and restaurants.

Piscina di Venere
The best beach for relaxing

Head to Piscina di Venere if you’re looking for a quiet and cosy beach to read a book or relax with friends on. Many of the best beaches on Capri are also the most crowded ones. Marina Grande, for example, is filled with smiling faces and happy chatter all through the summer months and much of the rest of the year. Piscina di Venere is much quieter and more secluded.
The Piscina di Venere beach, which translates to 'Venus' Swimming Pool', is a small spot that many tourists don't actually know about. The local sailors will be happy to take you here though, dropping you off and coming back a few hours later to pick you up. Just don’t forget to pack a picnic!

Marina di Mulo
The quietest beach

Down on the southern side of Capri, where the beaches tend to be a little less crowded, you can find Marina di Mulo. This was a very popular spot back in the jet-set days, attracting plenty of glamorous stars and glitzy celebs.
Nowadays, it never gets quite as busy as somewhere like Marina Grande, but it's still spectacular. Our top tip for this beach is to arrive early. As the bay is quite deep and ringed with tall cliffs, the beach tends to lose sunlight quite early – generally around 4pm.

Easily one of the most scenic beaches on the island, Faraglioni is actually a small island separated from the mainland of Capri. At first, it might seem like this little rocky spot is inaccessible by foot, but there's a little trail you can walk along from the Punta Tragara area. You can also simply hop on a boat from Marina Piccola to get over to Faraglioni.
Like many other beaches around Capri, Faraglioni is dominated more by rocks and pebbles than sand, but it's terrific for enjoying views back onto the island and along the coast – the perfect spot for couples looking to share a peaceful, romantic moment together.

It's a rocky spot surrounding the lovely Punta Carena lighthouse, which provides the perfect backdrop for some fun holiday snaps to share with your friends and family back home.
The water is calm here and there are some good diving spots, as well as steps and ladders for those who want to gently ease themselves into the sea. The Blue Grotto, or Grotta Azzurra for locals, is a stunning sea cave with magnificent blue waters, looking like something plucked straight from the pages of a fairy-tale storybook. It’s one of the most famous natural landmarks on Capri.
Little rowboats take tourists into the cave each day, but there's also a little public beach here too. It's more rocky than sandy, but it's a nice spot to sit peacefully and admire the surrounding beauty of the island, letting all your worries and thoughts fade away as you savour the moment.

Just a short distance westward along the coast from Marina Grande, you'll find Palazzo a Mare. You can take a scenic stroll here from the main port, passing by the popular Da Paolino restaurant on the way.
This is a pebble-lined beach divided up into both a public and private section. It's great for families and stays sunny until late in the day due to its position on the island. Visitors can enjoy the gentle waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea here, working up an appetite before dining at the local restaurant and gazing out over the waters while they eat.

Head to the west coast of Capri to discover one of the island’s true hidden gems: Gradola. Many of the best beaches in Capri can be found all around the main town of Capri itself. Gradola, however, is located in Anacapri. You can get here by bus very easily, but the rocky nature of the beach makes it more suitable for grown-ups than little ones.
It's not far from the Blue Grotto, so you can do some sightseeing on the same day, and there are several useful amenities and great hotels nearby too. It's a good spot to do some diving and swimming, or you can grab a fresh, juicy cocktail from a local bar and simply relax.
