I am writing to formally express our disappointment with our recent stay at Taj, James Court. From the moment we arrived, we faced unprofessional and dismissive behavior from the staff. When we inquired about valet parking, the entrance staff discouraged us, suggesting we find free parking instead, while another staff member made an undermining remark about our car. At reception, the staff member seemed to deliberately act as if she did not understand our English, repeatedly avoiding a clear response when we asked about the breakfast options. Additionally, we were misled about our room upgrade—we had booked a Queen Bed Deluxe Room, but the so-called “upgrade” to a Superior Room left us with joined twin beds and no bathtub, leading to an uncomfortable stay. The lift was also out of service, forcing us to use the stairs repeatedly. Furthermore, we were overcharged for valet parking, paying £65 instead of the advertised £50, with no explanation. On top of all this, the breakfast was underwhelming, and we felt we were treated differently than other guests, which made us feel unwelcome. Overall, this experience was extremely disappointing, and we will not be returning. We request a formal response on this.
