A decent stay on a budget.
The hotel was in a good location, in the heart of a very genuinely Parisian feeling district - good if you are after a real (but safe) Paris, not a postcard Paris. Plenty of bakeries and cafes and eateries around. Eiffel Tower visible from the distance, about 30mins walk away. Nearest metro station 3 mins away. Most Paris attractions within 30mins metro radius.
The building is an old one and unfortunately piping must be from the previous centuries - the smell of sewage in the bathroom was pretty severe. So, our room had plenty of character and charm, but was very smelly at times. It did not have Eiffel Tower view, which we sort of expected after looking at the images and hotel's website saying that most rooms in the hotel have the Eiffel view. (we stayed in a triple room) We were with our dog and were quite surprised that there was no dog bed or bowl or anything else. We are used to being provided with a dog bed and bowls for food and water when we arrive with the dog and pay extra for it.
Overall value for money was really good, would stay there again if we were on a tight budget.
