Disappointing Stay
I booked a stay at Moxy Manchester as a surprise trip for my partner’s birthday and had high hopes for a special experience. Before our arrival, I paid an extra £15 for the “Guaranteed Hook-Up” package, which was supposed to include balloons, a mirror message, confetti, and sweet treats. Unfortunately, this was a huge letdown. There was no confetti at all, the balloons were cheap and underwhelming, and the overall presentation didn’t feel worth the additional cost. It really took away from the excitement of our arrival.
Beyond this, while the hotel’s location was great, our experience was far from restful. Every morning at 7 AM, we were woken up by the sound of glass bins being emptied and dragged down the alley outside our room. This went on for a while each day, making it difficult to get a proper night’s sleep and leaving us exhausted for the days ahead. Given that we spent over £300 for our stay, this was incredibly frustrating.
To add to the disappointment, my partner used the milk at the coffee station on our first morning, and despite making it clear we needed more, it was never replenished during our entire three-night stay. For a hotel at this price point, such a basic housekeeping task should have been easily met.
Overall, I’m really disappointed with Moxy. I booked this trip to make my partner’s birthday special, but the service, attention to detail, and quality weren't there. It didn’t feel like good value for money, and I wouldn’t come for a special occasion.
