Our room got broken into..
I stayed at Artinn Hotel over the weekend, and on the night of Saturday, February 15, I lost my room key and key holder. When I returned late that night, I requested a replacement key and was charged a fee for it. I assumed the lost key would be disabled immediately, as per standard security procedures.
However, on the morning of Sunday, February 16, my companion and I woke up to find our room had been broken into. The hallway light was on, and the lost key was on the floor. In shock and panic, we checked our belongings and discovered that cash, a ring, and a laptop sleeve had been stolen. Security footage later showed an intruder entering our room at 5:50 AM. The police were notified, but recovery of our belongings was deemed unlikely.
We were appalled to learn that the night-shift employee failed to disable our lost key—a serious security lapse. The day staff admitted the employee was new and unaware of the procedure. This negligence put our safety at risk.
The hotel manager offered a two-night free stay, but we no longer feel safe returning. We believe a fair resolution would be a full refund of our stay, reimbursement for financial loss, and compensation for the distress caused.
