The room itself is clean and nicely furnished, with all necessary amenities. The building is centrally located with easy walkable access to Museum and Mustek subway stations, steps away from the old city center.
But, the online registration process is flawed, and unfortunately due to a terrible experience with it, our stay was not as enjoyable as we would have hoped.
The initial very first contact is what sets the tone, and when that experience is bad, you ruin the whole experience, no matter how good is the rest.
This chain (Adrez) of aparthotels uses an online registration website, which gathers data prior to the arrival (PCI sensitive data, passport, selfie etc.) but it has one big flaw, it does not do verification of email address. That email address is the same one that will be later used to receive the access code to the building and room.
So if anything happens (like a typo), you will not receive the access code and then you will have to contact them to try and get the situation corrected and the access code received.
The problem could also be an integration issue between the online registration website and the website used to provide the access code details (it is not the same). But ultimately, when dealing with PCI type data, there should be more rigorous processes to ensure email addresses are stored correctly and to prevent mistakes (like a simple email validation link, that needs to be accessed by the guest).
And stop blaming guests for the flaws of your tool
