Great stay with wonderful people!!
The Sea Gate is a family hotel on (at least) it's third generation. They make you feel like family when you stay. Once our reservations were made, the hosts got in touch a few days in advance of arrival to ensure everything was ready. They were very helpful in navigating the logisitcs around our ferry arrival, getting to our bio bay meet up point, finding a lovely (and delicious) dinner.
The hotel is like a small resort with rooms in different locations and on different levels of the property. Some are side by side, but not all, so if you need to be near fellow travellers specify that with your reservation. (we liked being a bit apart, but that's us!)
The rooms also vary in size and ammenities. I had a "suite" with a large patio, small kitchenette area, bathroom and large bedroom. My travelling compaion had a smaller room with two beds and an en suite bathroom. A patio with table and chairs was outside his room.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were spotless with nice touches like soap, make-up remover, soft towels and beachy decor. The air conditioning worked well and kept the main bedroom area very comfortable during the night. The room also had a fan, if needed.
Checking in and out was a breeze. (Penny is just lovely!) I would stay here again, and recommend it to others!
