I spent about $30,000 bringing my work staff and some clients to the resort and was really disappointed to be placed in the worst room that our group received. I had no hot water, a floor that was constantly full of condensation and caused me to slip and fall twice, and a ceiling light that never went completely out.
After a few days of trying to shower in the freezing cold, I finally gave in and asked for a different room, only to be switched to another room with no hot water. This one also reeked of paint and chemicals because of work that was being done on the upper level of the building.
It was dire and very uncomfortable. The only hot shower I had was in my friend's room.
Most of the restaurants weren't open which was quite frustrating, we ended up at the buffet most of the time. The food was absolutely not gourmet! It was dire, I struggled to find things to eat.
There were two highlights of this day, that being the experience at the Michelin starred restaurant, which we all enjoyed thoroughly and the staff.
The people working at this resort are incredibly good, kind, personable, and really set the tone for your time at Azul. They get five stars for an incredible team that keeps the place clean, comfortable, and very friendly.
Overall, I feel like I spent $30,000 to get a very underwhelming experience for myself but my clients and staff were happy.
